Spring/Summer 2016 Trends

Summer is right around the corner and with a new season comes new trends and wardrobe essentials. I've compiled a short list of a few of the top S/S 16 Trends and where you can get them cheaper. Even though Alexander Wang and Coach are pretty expensive, you can still get pieces like them for much cheaper while still being on trend. The pieces I will show you here are all from H&M and follow the trends for this Summer and Spring!

1) 70s-Inspired Suede:

70s inspired everything has been all over the runways and especially at Coachella this year. It's been featured in collections by Jonathon Saunders, Alberta Ferretti, Rebecca Minkoff, and Olivier Rouesting. Suede has been a fabric that I've seen all over the place and although real suede is super expensive, you can still get fake suede which is even better because it's less expensive and no animals were harmed. :)

2) Victorian: Victorian inspired clothing has been frequently popping up on the runways and we should be seeing way more of it during the coming seasons. This trend has been featured in many collections, two of which including J.W. Anderson and Erdem.

3) Spanish influences: I've been noticing this trend since the fall and winter collections but I think it will be even more noticeable this spring and summer especially because of Coachella and all the music festivals coming up! This trend has been seen at Proenza Schouler, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, and Diane von Furstenberg.

3) Fringe: Another popular detail of choice among festival goers is fringe. This trend can be seen at many runway shoes including Derek Lam, Boss, Prabal Gurung, and Anna Sui.

4) Lightweight denim: Denim is always in but this season it's going to be all about lightweight denim worn as flimsy, skin-bearing, flowing fabric to complement florals and such. This trend was all over Gabriela Hearst, Opening Ceremony, and Jill Sander.

5) Micropleats: Pleats are going to be very on trend this season whether they are in dresses, skirts, or jumpsuits. Designers who got on board with this trend include Boss, Sonia Rykiel, and Stella McCartney.

6) Romantic ruffles: Feminine, romantic, girly ruffles are so in trend right now and two of the collections that are following this trend this season are Zimmerman and Jason Wu.

7) Exposed shoulders: This is one trend that has been more "exposed" and more popular than any trend on this list- bare shoulders! Shoulders are the sexiest part of the body right now and that's something that designers like Proenza Schouler, Derek Lam, and Adeam understand.

8) Pajama dressing: This is a trend that has been spotted all over the streets and at Thakoon, Sonia Rykiel, and Alexander Wang. You can just buy a pair of cute pajamas and wear them as summer clothes and you don't have to change when you go to bed!

9) Sporty mesh: This trend is super popular for street wear and the runways as Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, and Louis Vuitton have featured it in their S/S 16 Collections.

Hopefully you might have found a few cute new things for your Spring/Summer 2016 wardrobe! Thanks so much for reading and check back soon for another post about music, style, life, and beauty. <3
