Do it Yourself: Galaxy
A trend that I’ve been seeing on the runways this spring is glitter and galaxy print. Not just in clothes, but spread throughout hair, on the eyes, and lips as well. So, if you want to try this trend out at home, here are a few of my favorite Galaxy/Glitter DIY’s:
>> Galaxy Eyeshadow DIY:
<< Items you will need:
-Eyeshadow Primer – Urban Decay’s Primer Potion is a good one.
-Any type of eyeshadow brushes for packing on the eyeshadow and for blending – Zoeva brushes and Sigma brushes are good.
-Blue eyeshadows and glitters - This one from Urban Decay or this one for a cheaper price.
-Pink eyeshadows and glitters - Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics or Urban Decay's in the shade Cosmic.
-Silver glitter in the shade Platinum.
How to do it:
Put on a base color of purple all over your lids and blend. Then, take your darkest blue and pack that in the outer corner of your eye and add a bit more purple to the center and blend. Add some of the pink eyeshadow to the inner corner of your eyes and blend the silver glitter on top of everything until you get a smoky effect and you can’t see any distinct lines of color because they should all blend into each other. Then, under your bottom lashes, take your blue eyeshadow and blend a bit of that on the outer corner and then put some purple on the rest until you get up to the inner corner of your eye. Add some eyeliner and mascara or false lashes if you want to and you’re done!
Here’s a tutorial I like for how to do a galaxy eyeshadow (it’s not the same look shown in the picture, but it is similar):
>> Galaxy Lips DIY:
<< Items you will need:
-MAC Lip liner in the shade Currant
*you can use any products you want, these are just some suggestions
-MAC Lipstick in Boyfriend Stealer (Cyber is also a good color)
-Shu Uemura eyeshadow in White Silver
-Silver glitter in the color Platinum
-Purple glitter in the color Royal Purple
How to do it:
Begin by tracing the outline of your lips with the lip liner and then fill in the rest of your lips with your lip stick. Once that is blended out, dab a bit of the shu uemura eyeshadow on the center of your bottom lip and top with the silver glitter. Put a little bit of the silver glitter on the center of your top lip also. Next, take your purple glitter and pat it in the outer corners of your upper lip. If you want, you can take a clear lip gloss and coat it over the top of your lips, but if you want a more matte look, leave it as it is.

-White nail polish – Essie ‘Blanc'

Since, it’s a little hard to explain how to do this in writing, I’ll just link you to a tutorial I find helpful:
(I was considering putting in Shane Dawson's tutorial, but decided against it. But if you want to watch it here you go).
I hope you’ll try some of these out! Thanks for reading : )
