The Sounds of Style
Leading up to my first blog post on music, I decided to blend my two favorite topics together: fashion and music. Many of these ladies are some of my favorite singers and style inspirations, with their individuality and originality showing in everything they do. This post will feature some favorites such as Marina Diamandis (Marina & The Diamonds), Lana Del Rey, and Florence Welch.
1) MARINA DIAMANDIS:
What I love about Marina's style is how much it changes and evolves along with her and her music. In her Electra Heart era she fully committed to wearing pastel, 50's housewive outfits and a heart on her cheek as an accessory. These days, Marina in going with a more laid back vibe now that she has put Electra behind her and reveling in the success of her third and latest album 'Froot' while gracing the covers of indie mags like Nylon.
Marina has been given the title 'Queen of Tumblr' as there are countless numbers of blogs dedicated to her. I love Marina so much! Her first album, Family Jewels showed a time in her life when she was much younger, insecure and depressed. Many fans have said that no one understands how they feel the way that Marina does. We feel such a close connection to her because she leaves nothing out in her songs and she writes about things that people can really relate to. Electra Heart was truly incredible. Marina came up with this character and kind of became her. On Marina's youtube page there is a collection of music videos that tell the story of Electra and that was when I fell in love with Marina and thought "She is a total genius." Since then, Marina seems to have become more confident and secure with herself as the first song on her new album 'Froot', 'Happy', states "I found what I've been looking for in myself, never thought that i could be happy." Marina is still as sassy and rebellious as always though.

My favorite thing about Marina's fashion is that she always adds a little bit of humor and the perfect amount of weirdness.
2) LANA DEL REY:
Lana is the queen of denim, leather, american flags, cola, and jack daniels t-shirts. Ever since I heard Summertime Sadness for the first time, I immediately became OBSESSED and started playing her cd 'Born to Die' every morning before school, religiously, while doing my makeup. Speaking of makeup, Lana inspired the way I do my eyeliner as she is also the queen of winged liner. Lana released her sophomore album 'Ultraviolence' in 2014 in which I was in love with as well. I love the darkness and drama but also this all american girl style that Lana has.

Here are some of my favorite glamorous Lana del Rey looks:
Lana is like American Horror Story in musician form: gory, violent, weird, beautiful.
3) FLORENCE WELCH:
Florence Welch is best known for her indie alternative band Florence & The Machine and has released one of my favorite songs write now 'St. Jude', which always makes me think of AHS:Asylum. (I'm going through such intense AHS withdrawal right now). Florence's style is the epitome of festival fashion you would see at popular music festivals like Coachella and Lolapalooza. Florence is a big fan of florals, kimonos, peasant tops, and anything bohemian, as am I. Florences' hauntingly beautiful vocals contrast her hippie, boho style.
