Fashion Icons Week - Taylor Swift
Today's post is a very special one because Taylor Swift is one of my biggest role-models and inspirations. I've loved her since 2008 when her debut album 'Taylor Swift' was released in October. I was never a fan of country music but Taylor made me begin to appreciate it (it also helped that she was a little more pop than country). I loved her older music but this new 1989 era is my favorite so far. It shows how much Taylor has grown and how she has become stronger through all the hate and the boyfriend rumors. Taylor has been dubbed as a crazy boy obsessed psycho but honestly, she hasn't even dated half of the guys she has been spotted with. Believe it or not, you actually can be just friends with a guy! Crazy, right? I think that Taylor Swift is the ultimate role-model for today's generation of young women and girls. She's always so classy and holds herself very well. Instead of barking back at the haters, she uses their words to build her back up. Like the lyrics in one of her songs, "I built a castle of the bricks they threw at me."
In just 8 years, Taylor has won over 133 awards and was the winner of Billboard's Artist of the Year multiple times. In 2014, Taylor became the first woman to replace herself at #1 in the chart's 50+ year history. With a networth of more than $200 million, Taylor is kind of ruling the world right now. Two huge singles from her latest album, '1989', Blank Space and Shake it Off took the world by storm and introduced the new era of Taylor Swift.
Taylor's fashion sense has also evolved dramatically over the years. In the beginning, Taylor was known for her princess style ball gowns and everything was sparkles and glitter. Typical country princess. These days, Taylor is going for a more edgy look and feels more confident showing off her body. Taylor's style can also be extremely classic and lady-like with a Kennedy feel to it. Some of Taylor's best looks are from the red carpets of award shows. I wanted to double the number of favorite moments for this post but I must be fair to the others! So, here are 15 of my favorite TSwift fashion moments:
