Fashion Icons Week - Kendall Jenner

Today I've chosen Kendall Jenner as one of my style icons. Not that anyone doesn't know this already but...Kendall Jenner is a reality star turned high fashion model, modeling for brands like Fendi, Balmain, Oscar de la Renta and more. Kendall is best known for being part of the famous reality show 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'. She is the daughter of Bruce Jenner and Kris Kardashian. Her father, Bruce, has been the center of attention these past couple months as he has been transitioning into becoming a woman. Kendall has been very supportive of her dad as seen on certain twitter posts and interviews. She is also the other half of the famous sister relationship of Kendall and Kylie. The two sisters have received more than their fair share of hate and online bullying. I would say that people assume that since they have grown up in a house with Kim Kardashian and the others (seriously, do Kourtney and Khloe really do anything?) they must be vain and superficial and fake. They are totally the opposite, especially Kendall. Kendall has said many times that she has always been very shy and introverted. Once she began modeling is when she really started to gain confidence and see herself as the beautiful girl that she is.

In 2012, Kendall and Kylie teamed up with PacSun to create a clothing collection called 'Kendall & Kylie" sold exclusively at PacSun. Kendall gave this interview with Harpers Bazaar for the May 2015 edition in which she was the cover model, talking about modeling, her family, and how she's always admired Kim's style.

["It's so fun to be in Paris with her, but I'll walk out and be like, "Oh, my God, I love my outfit," and then I'll see Kim and I'll be like, "My outfit sucks compared to yours!"]

I admire Kendall and how she is able to keep herself above the negative comments and the haters. Much like myself, Kendall uses her love for fashion to pull her out of negativity and make her strong. Kendall shows how powerful a thing fashion can be to someone's self esteem, body image, outlook on life, etc. The only reason I stomach watching hours of KUWTK every week is to see just a bit of what's going on in Kendall and Kylie's lives. Check back tomorrow for another style icon. Hint: she might just be Kendall's sister. Maybe...maybe not. ;)
