Fashion Icons Week - Lauren Conrad

Today's post is all about television personality, fashion designer, and author, Lauren Conrad. Lauren made her first televison appearance on the MTV reality show 'Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County' in September 2004 at 18 years old. Better known for her role in MTV's 'The Hills', which aired on tv from 2005 to 2009. In 2006, Lauren moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the fashion industry. She attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (JEALOUS) and held positions with Teen Vogue (JEALOUS AGAIN) and Kelly Cutrone's PR firm People's Revolution.

In 2009, Conrad launched her very first clothing line called 'LC: Lauren Conrad' which is sold exclusively at Khols. In 2011, she launched her second collection 'Paper Crown'. Lauren has also written many books including how-to/advice/beauty guides as well as a series of fictional books about young girls making it in Hollywood and getting into fights and relationships (similar to The Hills). In 2010, Conrad wrote 'Lauren Conrad Style' and in 2012 she wrote 'Lauren Conrad Beauty'. I've read all of these books and Lauren is not only stylish, she's a totally gifted writer as well.

I think that Lauren Conrad has a very unique style in a time where flashiness and showing as much skin as possible is a big thing. She has this old hollywood Grace Kelly style about her.
